  • The Bahmani Empire, founded by an Iranian dynasty, was the most powerful Muslim force in the Deccan at the time.
  • Razzaq was an apprehensive traveler. Because of the Monarch, he fled Herat in January 1442. • When he saw the Royal Court, he described him as having an olive complexion, wearing a king pearl collar, and seated in a forty-pillared hall surrounded by Brahmans. He was tall and slender, with no moustache or beard.
  • Abdur Razzaq was given a Chinese fan, money, camphor, and betel when he met the King. Razzaq lived on high land near the King's palace, and he was supplied two sheep, four fowl pairs, rice, butter, and two gold varahas every day.
  • He regarded Vijayanagara as being administered by a capable King. There were temples, gardens, and mansions galore. There were 300 ports and 1,100,000 men on the battlefield. It was well-armed, and the markets were brimming with cash. He also said that various rivulets and streams ran via carved stone channels in the Royal Center of Hampi.
  • The Iranian envoy to the Deccan (southern India) Abdur Razzaq finished his year-long stay in Hampi at the court of the Raja of Vijaynagar in November 1444 and went away from there. He left the city and arrived in Mangalore after 18 days.
