How to approach UPSC previous years’ papers?

Hi Vishal. After reading the NCERTs, prelims papers can be solved first, and then aspirants can match their answers with the official answer keys. For mains, aspirants can first try to solve previous year papers and then can look up to UPSC mains solved papers.

Hi Ambuj, As per IAS 2020 Eligibility, candidates holding a bachelor's degree can apply for the civil services exam. As you are in the 3rd year of your B.Tech., You are noy eligible to sit for the exam.

Hi Shirisha, it is not mandatory to have thorough knowledge of English to crack IAS, however, candidate must be able to express himself/herself with or without using fancy words. Thus, you may at least give it a try.

Hi Vaishnavi, there is nothing that you must choose after intermediate. Graduation is only counted for eligibility to appear in this exam. Thus, you must opt for the subject in which you are interested for your graduation.

Hi Jeyasadhusundaqram, Preparing through test series have an extra edge in the exam as it makes them habitual of finishing the paper in time. To crack the exam, you should be in practice of writing lengthy papers with appropriate answers and presentation. You can take help from IAS sample papers to know the exam pattern and extent of the syllabus that may come in the exam and prepare for that accordingly.
