Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) Chandigarh has issued a notification on the postponement of CBT 1 of the RRB NTPC 2021 exam due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Also, check RRB Upcoming Exam Dates 2021 here. 

RRB NTPC 2021 CBT 1 exam is conducted to recruit candidates for several posts such as Accounts Clerk cum Typist, Junior Clerk cum Typist, Trains Clerk, Senior Time Keeper, Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Junior Time Keeper, Goods Guard, Traffic Assistant, Senior Commercial cum Ticket Clerk, Junior Account Assistant cum Typist,  Senior Clerk cum Typist, Commercial Apprentice and Station Master in the Zonal Railways and Production Units of Indian Railways

A total of 1,26,30,885 candidates applied for the exam. The syllabus of RRB NTPC is of Class 10, 12, and graduation levels. The exam is conducted in 15 languages.

NTPC Eligibility

RRB NTPC Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria of RRB NTPC include the upper age limit, educational qualification(s), and medical standards. However, the terms of age and educational qualification is essential to be considered primarily.

The details of the eligibility are given below as per the terms of the official notification.

  • For the undergraduate level posts, the minimum age limit is 18 year and the maximum age limit is 30 years.
  • For graduate-level posts, the minimum age limit is 18 years and the minimum age is 33 years.

RRB NTPC Exam: Application Procedure

The RRB NTPC application process started on March 01, 2019. The last date for the final submission of RRB NTPC was March 31, 2019. The application form of the upcoming RRB NTPC will be released on the official website of RRB.

  • The application fees can be paid both offline and online.
  • Online payment can be made via Netbanking, Credit/ Debit/ Rupay/ Visa/ Master Card.
  • Offline payment of RRB NTPC application fees can be made via E-challan where cash is to be deposited at SBI bank.

RRB NTPC Exam: Admit Card

The RRB NTPC admit card 2020 for Phase 5 of the CBT 1 Exam has been released on the regional websites officially. A total of 19 lakh candidates will appear for the 5th phase of the RRB NTPC 2020-21 Exam. Candidates can obtain their RRB NTPC 2020-21 Admit Card by using their user ID and password.

  • Before downloading the admit card, check if the information is correct.
  • Take a print out of the admit card as the soft copy is not allowed in the exam centres.
  • Also, save the PDF in a save folder.

RRB NTPC: Exam Pattern

The RRB NTPC written test will be taken in 2 stages:

  • 1st Stage of Computer Based Test (CBT)
  • 2nd Stage of Computer Based Test (CBT)

RRB NTPC Exam Pattern: 1st Stage CBT

  • The 1st Stage CBT is conducted for screening the aspirants.
  • There is a negative marking of 0.25 Marks for every question, attempted wrong.
  • No marks are deducted if a question is left unanswered.
  • The exam duration for PWD candidates is 120 Minutes.

  • The normalized score of 1st Stage CBT will be used for shortlisting of candidates for 2nd Stage CBT as per their merit.
  • Minimum percentage of marks for eligibility in various categories: UR-40%, EWS40%, OBC (Non creamy layer) -30%, SC-30%, ST-25%.
  • These percentages of marks for eligibility may be relaxed by 2% for PwBD candidates in case of a shortage of PwBD candidates against vacancies reserved for them.

  • 120 questions are making a total of 120 marks.
  • 1/3 of the marks assigned to each question are deducted for every wrong answer, as negative marking.
  • Normalization of marks is done.

RRB NTPC Selection Process

The aspirants who will be able to obtain the cutoff marks of the 1st Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) 2nd Stage Computer Based Test (CBT) will go through the below-mentioned selection process. Check RRB NTPC Selection Process

CBAT of RRB NTPC

  • The candidates need to secure a minimum T-Score of 42 marks to qualify.
  • This applies to all candidates irrespective of category and no relaxation in the minimum T- Score is permissible.
  • Candidates will have to qualify in each of the test batteries of CBAT for considering them for the post of SM/TA.
  • The CBAT will have questions and answer options only in English and Hindi.
  • There will be no negative marking in CBAT.
  • Merit list will be drawn only from amongst the candidates qualifying in the CBAT, with 70% weightage for the marks obtained in the 2nd Stage CBT and 30% weightage for the marks obtained in CBAT.

Typing skill test

  • Qualifying in nature.
  • Eight times the number of vacancies will be called for the typing test.
  • The candidates should be able to type 30 words per minute (WPM) in English or 25 WPM in Hindi on Personal Computer only without editing tools and spell check facility. Take a look at the expected cutoff of RRB NTPC

RRB NTPC Medical Standards

Candidates must ensure that they fulfil the prescribed Medical Standards for the post(s) for which they have applied. For this, they should refer to the medical standards for each post. RRB NTPC Document Verification

Candidates equal to the number of vacancies will be called for Document Verification. Candidates will be called for this stage of RRB NTPC Recruitment under few circumstances such as:

  • Based on the performance of candidates in CBT II and based on the performance of candidates in both 2nd Stage CBT and CBT/TEST (as applicable),
  • candidates equal to 50% (may increase or decrease at the sole discretion of RRBs) of the number of vacancies for various posts.

RRB NTPC Exam: Cutoff Marks

The vacancies for RRB NTPC Exam have been revised to 35,208, deducting the number of DLW vacancies from the RRB Allahabad zone. The DLW vacancies under RRB ALLAHABAD have been cancelled. Hence, the overall vacancies for RRB Allahabad have been decreased from 4099 to 4030.

Since there is any new notification from the authorities regarding the exam dates, the exam will be conducted on 15th of December, 2020. Your paper will be in Kannada as it is one of the 15 languages in which the paper will be conducted ( except the language paper).
