The SSC CGL 2021 exam is regulated by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) to complete the recruitment process for Group B and Group CEvery year, approximately 15 lakh aspirants appear for the exam. On 29 December 2020, the SSC CGL 2021 notification has been released.  

The SSC CGL examination is conducted in four stages, whereas the first two stages (that is tiers) are commenced in online mode. The last two tiers will be held in offline mode. All the aspirants should get the cut-off score to qualify each tier and for moving forward to the next level.

What is SSC CGL 2021 Eligibility?

To be eligible for the SSC CGL, candidates have to fulfill the eligibility criteria laid down by the authorities. Below given are the SSC CGL Eligibility Criteria.

Educational Qualification Requirement: Candidates should have a graduate degree on or before January 1, 2021. Candidates in their final year of graduation can also apply for SSC CGL with their provisional degrees.

Age Limit: SSC CGL 2021 Age Limit varies from 18 – 32 years for various posts as of January 1, 2021. 

Nationality: The aspirants should be Indian, or should be subject to Nepal/ Bhutan or Tibetan Refugee. 

CGL Application Process

How to fill SSC CGL 2021 Application Form?     

Candidates who are interested in applying for SSC CGL 2021 have to follow the steps given below:

  • Visit the official website – and click on Apply-CGL.
  • Enter your Aadhaar Number, Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number, and Email ID and Submit the form.
  • The registration number and Password will be sent on your mobile number and email address.
  • Log in again and upload scanned images of your photograph and signature in the prescribed guidelines.  

  • Now, fill in your personal, contact and educational qualification information.
  • Enter your gender, category, nationality, name of the university, roll number, year of passing, marks, and other asked details.
  • Indicate 3 exam centers in the same region in order of your preference.
  • Select whether you are applying for the post of Junior Statistical Officer or Statistical Investigator Grade-II.
  • Read the declaration, tick on “I Agree”, fill the captcha code, and submit the form to proceed to fee payment.
  • Make the fee payment in online mode via BHIM UPI, Netbanking, Debit card or Credit Card or offline mode by paying cash at any SBI Bank branch along with the challan.

SSC CGL 2021 Admit Card

SSC will release SSC CGL Admit Card separately for different levels of examination, i.e. Admit Card for Tier-I will be released first followed by Admit Card for Tier-II and so on. Admit Card for Tier-II and Tier-III will be issued to candidates who have qualified Tier-I Exam. Similarly, an Admit Card for Tier-IV will be issued to candidates who have cleared the Tier-II and III Exam.

It is to be noted that the admit card will not be sent by post, a candidate is required to log in using their Registration Number/Roll Number and the Password/D.O.B to the official website of SSC to download the Admit Card

  • The SSC CGL 2021 will be conducted in 120 cities across India.
  • All the SSC CGL 2021 Exam Centers are segregated into 9 main regions of the country.
  • The applicants have to fill 3 centers of their choices in the Application Form for SSC CGL 2021.
  • The Commission reserves the right to make a decision regarding the final allotment of the SSC CGL Exam Center. 
  • Any changes regarding the exam centers will be notified on the regional official websites of SSC and leading newspapers of the regions.
  • The candidates of SSC CGL 2021 will know the final allotted Exam Center in SSC CGL 2021 Admit Card.

SSC CGL 2021 Exam Pattern & Syllabus

Staff Selection Commission of India will be conducting the SSC CGL 2021 Exam in four stages: Tier-1, Tier-2, Tier-3 & Tier-4 exam. Go through the following table to get a detailed knowledge about the SSC CGL Exam Pattern 2021

Tier I and Tier 2 are online examinations consisting of different subjects, Tier III is a descriptive paper that can be answered in Hindi and English language. The major sections of Tier 1 are General Intelligence & Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Comprehension. 

A fair knowledge of SSC CGL Syllabus for Tier-I, Tier-II & III Exam is necessary to prepare effectively for this exam. 

SSC CGL 2021 Answer key & Result

The SSC CGL 2021 answer key will be published by the Staff Selection Commission on the official website. Once the result will be out, the aspirants can download their answer keys. If the candidates will find any discrepancy, then the aspirants can report to the competent authority within the mentioned time period through the proper channel.

SSC CGL 2021: Salary Scale

There are two categories of posts, these are Group B and Group C for the qualified SSC CGL 2021 aspirants. As per their designations, their salary scale varies:

CGL Selection Process

SSC CGL 2021 Selection Process

SSC CGL is divided into 4 stages i.e. Tier I, Tier II, Tier III, and finally Tier IV.

  • Candidates who qualify in Tier I, will be eligible to appear in Tier II and Tier III.
  • Candidates who qualify in Tier I, II, and III, will be eligible to appear in Tier IV, if applicable.
  • Final Merit of SSC CGL will be based on cumulative marks of Tier I, Tier II, and Tier III.
  • Tier 4 is of qualifying nature and mandatory for CSS / MEA / Tax Assistant Posts.

SSC CGL Previous Year Paper Analysis

To get a good score in the SSC CGL 2021 exam, the aspirants can go through the previous years’ section-wise paper analysis. Hence, the candidates can get an idea about the question pattern and the level of difficulty of the previous years’ questions. SSC CGL Tier I 2020 question paper was easy to moderately difficult. Though the Quantitative Aptitude section was comparatively hard than the other sections, while the students found the General Awareness and Reasoning section was easier to solve. To solve the General Awareness section, the candidates needed to have a good grip on the current affairs section and most of them found this section moderately difficult. Nonetheless, the aspirants have identified that the English section was too easy to get a good score.
