SSC CGL Cutoff is declared in the form of Marks

  • SSC CGL Cutoff Tier I is given out of 200 marks
  • SSC CGL Cutoff Tier II is given out of 400 Marks.

Ans: SSC CGL tier 1 cut off varies every year. Depending on the number of the candidates applied, the number of posts, etc the cut off varies. However, based on the cut off trends of previous years, SSC CGL 2021 tier 1 expected cut off for UR category can be between 150-160 depending on the vacancies and difficulty level of exam

Ans: No. There is no sectional cut off in SSC CGL 2021. SSC CGL cut off is the minimum score obtained by a candidate to qualify for the next level of the recruitment. Candidates who will clear the Cut Off for SSC CGL Tier 1 exam will be called for the Tier 2 exam. How is it that with the level of the SSC CGL exam getting difficult every year, the cutoff still keeps on increasing?

Hi Md Hussain. There is no doubt to the fact that SSC CGL is getting difficult due to increasing competition. But if you are well-versed with the pattern, you will realize the difficulty level is increasing in just 20-25% questions only, while the other 80% questions are still of the same previous year level. So don’t worry and study hard.

Tier 3 cutoff was 422 for CGL 2016 and lowest final cutoff was 516.5. But, how can a candidate get almost 100 marks in a descriptive exam to get a post if he has just cleared the cutoff for tier 3. It means a number of student gave their exams with zero percent of getting selected finally. Why?
