SSC CGL 2020 Application Forms were made available on October 22, 2019. Candidates registered for SSC CGL 2020 exam in online mode only at the official website – ssc.nic.in. Last day to fill SSC CGL Application Form 2020 was November 25, 2019

Candidates possessing a bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply for SSC CGL 2020. SSC CGL Application Fees is INR 100, however, women, SC, ST, PWD and Ex-servicemen are exempted from fee payment. The registration fees can be paid in online mode via BHIM UPI, Debit/ Credit Card and Netbanking till November 27, 2019 (5 PM).

Candidates must thoroughly check eligibility criteria and make sure they satisfy them before beginning with SSC CGL Application Process:

  • Candidates must be a citizen of India.
  • Candidates must have a graduation degree in any discipline from a recognized university. There are specific educational qualification requirements for some posts.
  • Candidates must be between 18 – 32 years of age as on January 1, 2020. The lower and upper age limit varies for various posts. Also, age relaxation provided to reserved category candidates.

SSC CGL Application Process

How to fill SSC CGL Application Form 2020?

The process of filling up SSC CGL Application Form includes two parts – In Part 1, you have to register yourself and upload your photo and signature while in Part 2, you have to fill the application form and pay the registration fees. It is advisable to read SSC CGL Official Notification 2020, before initiating the application procedure.

Pre-requisites for SSC CGL Registration 2020

Candidates should keep the following documents and details handy before beginning to fill SSC CGL Application Form 2019:

  • A valid mobile number,
  • An active email ID
  • Scanned image of candidate’s passport size photo 
  • Scanned image of candidate’s signature
  • Aadhaar Number or any other Photo ID Proof Number (also required at later stages)
  • Class 10th Roll Number, Marks, Board, Year of passing details.
  • Bank details, in case of online fee payment
  • PwD Certificate details, if applicable

Steps to Fill SSC CGL Application Form 2020

Candidates have to follow the below given steps to successfully fill application form of SSG CGL 2020:

Step 1: Online SSC CGL Registration 2020

  • Visit the official website – ssc.nic.in.
  • Click on “Apply” and then on “CGL”.
  • Enter your Aadhaar Number, Name, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number and Email ID.
  • Enter the OTPs received on your Mobile Number and Email ID and click on Submit.
  • Your registration number and Password will be sent to you as SMS and a Mail.

Step 2: Upload SSC CGL Photo and Signature

Candidates have to upload scanned images of their photograph and signature in the prescribed guidelines:

Step 3: Fill SSC CGL Application Form 2020

  • Candidates have to fill in their personal, contact and educational qualification information.
  • Enter your gender, category, nationality, name of university, roll number, year of passing, marks and other asked details.
  • Indicate 3 exam centers in the same region in order of your preference.
  • Select whether you are applying for post of Junior Statistical Officer or Statistical Investigator Grade-II.
  • Read the declaration, tick on “I Agree”, fill the captcha code and submit the form to proceed to fee payment.

Step 4: Pay SSC CGL Application Fees 2020

  • The last step in the application process is to pay SSC CGL Application fee. 
  • The application fees is INR 100. Women, SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen and PwD candidates do not have to pay any application fees.
  • It can be paid in both online and offline mode.
  • For offline mode: Candidates have to generate offline challan from the website and pay the fees in cash at any SBI Bank branch along with the challan.
  • For Online mode: Candidates have to choose the payment mode amongst BHIM UPI, Netbanking, Debit card or Credit Card and enter the banking details in the payment gateway to pay the fees.

SSC Post Preferences: 30 different posts are available and the code corresponding to each post must be entered in the 30 boxes provided.
Educational Details: Select the qualification degree, subject and year of passing from the drop-down list. The percentage obtained in the qualifying degree examination must be entered.
Work Experience Details: Enter Name of Occupation, Description, and Nature of Work along with selecting the starting date to the end date from the drop-down list

Important Note:

  • If candidates are applying for the post of Statistical Investigator, they must select ‘Yes’ when asked for the same under the SSC Post Preferences and select the applicable option (Yes/No) when asked if they possess the qualification for the post of Statistical Investigator.
  • Similarly, candidates applying for the post of AAO must also select ‘Yes’ when asked for the same and select the applicable option (Yes/No) when asked if they possess the qualification for AAO.
  • Candidates can have any degree to apply for the post of AAO.

SSC CGL 2020 Application Form Correction

Candidates have to be extremely careful as there is no option for editing the filled details after the Final Submission of the SSC CGL Application. However, if an error occurs at the time of filling of details in the registration part, candidates can start the entire procedure of Registration I again. SSC accepts the application which is last filled by the candidates.

Candidates must also make sure to note down the Registration Number (which is also sent to the Registered Email Id) after the completion of Registration Part I since this cannot be retrieved if lost.

Question: Can the SSG CGL 2020 application be done in offline mode?

Answer: No. SSC CGL 2020 application procedure is entirely online.

Question: What is the age criterion for applying?

Answer: Candidates must be between 18-32 years (as on January 1, 2020).

Question: What is the minimum qualification required for applying?

Answer: Candidates must have a Bachelor's Degree from a recognized institution/University. Candidates can have a degree from any stream.

Question: What are the modes of payment of Application Fee?

Answer: Application fee of Rs. 100/- can be paid in the online mode or the offline mode.

Hi Monisha, you cannot choose region for your posting. Region selection is provided for examination purposes only. The region in which you will be posted will depend upon the role and position and department for which you have been selected.

Hi Hitesh, in that case, login using your credentials and then take "Preview" of the application form and then "Submit" after verifying your details, then, you will get directed to the next stage of the application form.
