Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) invited Online applications from eligible candidates for around 35208 vacancies in various Zonal Railways and Production Units of Indian Railways for the posts under Non-Technical Popular Categories (NTPC).

Before applying for the different RRB posts, candidates should satisfy themselves that they fulfil all the eligibility norms including age, upper age limit, educational qualification(s) and medical standards. So, let’s look at the Eligibility Criteria for the various posts

The RRB NTPC Eligibility Criteria, which is set by the Railways Recruitment Board, is as follows:

  1. Nationality
  2. Age limit,
  3. Educational Qualification
  4. Physical fitness

RRB NTPC Eligibility Nationality

According to the RRB NTPC official notification, a candidate writing the exam must belong to the following nationalities:

  1. An Indian citizen
  2. A subject of Nepal or Bhutan
  3. A Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 to permanently settle in India
  4. A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with to permanently settle in India.

RRB NTPC Eligibility Age Limit and Relaxation

In the official notice of RRB NTPC 2020, there is an upper and lower age limit set by the RRB for candidates who wish to appear for the RRB NTPC Exam.

  • For the 7th CPC Level -2 and 3 (Under Graduate Level Posts) the date of birth of an applying candidate must be between the years given below (both dates inclusive):

RRB NTPC Eligibility Educational Qualification

  • Candidates applying for the RRB NTPC exam 2020 must note that the RRB has specified several educational criteria depending on the post for which a candidate is applying. Candidates must have at least minimum education qualifications as indicated in the table below from a recognized university board.
  • As per the RRB NTPC Eligibility criteria decided by the RRB, those who are awaiting the final results of the prescribed educational qualification cannot apply for any of the posts.

RRB NTPC Eligibility Medical Standards

Candidates must ensure that they fulfil the prescribed Medic Standards for the post(s) for which they are applying. For this, they should refer to the medic standards for each post. Candidates found medically unsuitable for the applied post(s) shall not be given any alternative appointment.

Candidates called for document verification will have to pass a requisite medical fitness test(s) conducted by the Railway Administration to ensure that the candidates are medically fit to carry out the duties connected with the post(s) opted by them. Visual Acuity Standard is one of the important criteria of medical fitness of railway staff. The medical standards are outlined below:

C-2 Physically fit in all respects Distance Vision: 6/12, 6/18 with or without glasses.
Near Vision: Sn: 0.6 with or without glasses when reading or close work is required.
