The correct answer is

(a)-(iv), (b)-(i), (c)-(ii), (d)-(iii)

This question matches each element of the communication process with the corresponding physiological part described in the second set.

The Sender is the source who encodes and originates the message. In the human communication analogy the sensory organs are the parts through which stimuli are picked up and expression is initiated, so Sender is matched with sensory organs.

The Receiver is the destination that decodes and interprets the message, this function is performed by the brain, so Receiver is matched with the brain.

The Message is the actual signal that travels, here represented by electro-magnetic impulses that carry the information, so Message is matched with electro-magnetic impulses.

The Medium is the channel that conducts the message from one point to another, corresponding to the central nervous system, which serves as the conducting pathway, so Medium is matched with the central nervous system.

This gives Sender–sensory organs, Receiver–brain, Message–electro-magnetic impulses, Medium–central nervous system. The other combinations misassign the brain, the impulses or the nervous system to the wrong elements and therefore do not fit the roles of source, destination, signal and channel correctly.

Correct answer: (a)-(iv), (b)-(i), (c)-(ii), (d)-(iii)
