Continuous reinforcement means a response is reinforced every single time it occurs.

Behaviour learned under this schedule becomes strongly tied to the presence of reinforcement, so when reinforcement is withdrawn, the organism quickly notices its absence and the behaviour extinguishes rapidly.

This is in contrast to partial/intermittent reinforcement schedules, which produce behaviour that is much more resistant to extinction because the learner is used to reinforcement being unpredictable.
