Sultan Shihab-ud-din was the ruler of Shah Mir Dynasty who ruled from 1354-1373 CE. He was a capable General who consolidated his power over neighbouring countries. He is known as the "Lalitaditya of Medieval Kashmir" for his outstanding management. He is regarded as the Shahmir Dynasty's true founder. He regained control of Kashmir and the regime.   • Shihab-ud-din was also a capable administrator, ruling his realm with strength and justice.
  • He was a patient monarch who lavished his generosity on all of his subjects. His two most powerful Hindu ministers were Kota bhat and Udyashri.
  • He was a powerful ruler who conquered Sindh, Kabul, Ghazni, Dardistan, Gilgit, Balochistan, and Ladakh.

  • Following this battle, the Kashgar-ruled regions of Ladakh and Baltistan fell under the control of Shah Mirs.
  • Sultan is said to have marched towards Delhi, but was met by Feroz Shah Tughlaq's army on the banks of the Satluj River.
  • Because the battle served no purpose for the Delhi Sultanate, peace was reached on the condition that all territories from Sirhind to Kashmir belonged to the Shah Mir empire.
  • Shihab ud Din established a new town, Shihab ud Din-pura, which is now known as Shadipur. Many mosques and monasteries are claimed to have been built by him.
