Littoral and Swamp Forests are abundant throughout India. They're mostly found in Deccan Plateau reservoirs, Gujarat's saline coast, Rajasthan's saline coast, the Gulf of Kutch, Eastern Coast Deltas, Kashmir's lakes and rivers, and North East India's swamps. They are found in India's natural vegetation. Littoral and Swamp forests are also called wetland forests and tidal forests. The biotic components (producer, consumers and decomposers) such as Rhizophora mangle (Mangroves), Manilkara littoralis, Thespesia, Spinifex littoreus, Casuarina equisetifolia, and other common species can be found in these forests. The abiotic factors (climate, temperature, soil, precipitation) such as sandy soil with a lot of lime and salts, but lack of nitrogen and other minerals characterizes this forest ecosystem.   • Depending on the location, rainfall ranges from 75 cm to 500 cm in the Beach forests.
  • These forests have pleasant temperatures.
  • Manilkara Littoralis, Thespesia, Spinifex Littoreus, Casuarina Equisetifolia, Pandanus, Borassus, Cocos Nucifera, Phoenix, Callophyllum Littoralis, Barringtonia, and Pongamia are some of the common autotrophs found in these forests.
