Kapadapuram was the capital of the Mean Koodal epoch's ancient Pandian kingdom, the second Sangam academy. Kapadapuram (Kuadam) was the capital from around 5400 BCE to around 1750 BCE, according to the great old poet and sage Nakkeerar and the Iraiyanar porul urai (about 3650 years). The second Sangam was held in Kapadapuram, but all of the literary works except Tolkappiyam had perished.
