Types of Biometrics

There are two types of biometrics:

1) Physiological

  • Fingerprints, hand shape, finger vein pattern, eye (iris and retina), and face shape are the most common morphological identifiers.
  • Medical teams and police forensics may use DNA, blood, saliva, or urine for biological analyses.

2) Behavioural

  • Voice recognition, signature dynamics (pen speed, accelerations, pressure exerted, inclination), keystroke dynamics, how we use objects, gait, step sound, gestures, and so on.
