The correct answer is
45
Let the son's present age be x, so the father's present age is \(3x\).
After 15 years: \(3x+15 = 2(x+15)\).
\(3x+15=2x+30 \Rightarrow x=15\), so the father's present age is \(3\times15=45\).
Hence, the father's present age is 45 years.
