Which of the following rulers is the author of ‘Mattavilasaprahasana’ ?
Mahendravarman-I
Mahendravarman-I option is correct.
The Mattavilasa Prahasana ("The Farce of the Drunken Sport") is a one-act Sanskrit prahasana, a satirical farce that lampoons the excesses of Kapalika Shaivas, Buddhist mendicants and Pashupata ascetics in seventh-century Kanchi. Its colophon names its royal author with several birudas.
The play was written by the Pallava king Mahendravarman I (c. 600–630 CE), who bore the titles Vichitrachitta and Mattavilasa. He was a many-sided personality — poet, painter, musician and initiator of the Pallava rock-cut temple tradition — and this farce is his most famous literary composition.
Bhoja of Dhara wrote works like the Samarangana-sutradhara but not this prahasana; Amoghavarsha, the Rashtrakuta, is associated with the Kavirajamarga; and Pulakeshin II was the Chalukya emperor defeated by Mahendravarman's son, not a Sanskrit playwright.
