SSC CHSL 2025 Tier 1 Question Paper (21-Nov-2025) (Shift 1)
The correct answer is

24

Given: three numbers add up to 132, with first : second = 2 : 5 and second : third = 5 : 4.

The second number appears as 5 in both ratios, so they combine directly.

Therefore first : second : third = \(2 : 5 : 4\).

The total number of ratio parts is \(2 + 5 + 4 = 11\).

Each part equals \(\frac{132}{11} = 12\).

The first number corresponds to 2 parts: \(2 \times 12 = 24\).

Check: the numbers are 24, 60 and 48, whose sum is \(24 + 60 + 48 = 132\), as required.

Hence the first number is 24.
