Read the following statement carefully and identify the conclusion that follows.

Statement:
All plants are living beings. Some living beings are animals.

Conclusions:
I. Some plants are animals.
II. All animals are plants.

This question was previously asked in
SSC CGL 2025 Tier 2 Paper 1 Question Paper (19-Jan-2026)
The correct answer is

Neither I nor II follows

Given: All plants → living beings. Some living beings → animals.

Conclusion I (Some plants are animals): The 'some living beings that are animals' may be entirely outside the 'plants' set. The Venn diagram allows plants and animals to be completely separate subsets of living beings. Does not necessarily follow.

Conclusion II (All animals are plants): Nowhere in the premises is this suggested. Does not follow.

Answer: Neither I nor II follows.
