The Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC Junior Engineer (JE) exam for several posts in Engineering such as Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, and Quantity Surveying for various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India. To take the SSC JE Exam 2020-21, aspirants had to visit the official website of the Staff Selection Commission. SSC JE exam 2021 is conducted for Group B posts (non-gazetted) in level 6 (Rs. 35400- 112400) of the pay matrix of the Seventh Central pay commission. The Staff Selection Commission revised the SSC JE exam 2020-21 dates on 18 March 2021 through an official notice. Before that, the commission issued the SSC JE admit card 2020-21 by the regional headquarters.

From 22 March to 24 March 2021 (revised date), the SSC JE Paper 1 2020-21 exam was conducted, whereas on 21 March 2021, the SSC JE Paper-2 2019 exam was commenced.

SSC JE Eligibility Criteria 2021

SSC JE Eligibility 2021 is dependent upon three factors and they are nationality, age limit, and educational qualification. Given below is SSC JE 2021 Eligibility Criteria:

SSC JE Application status 2020-21 was released by the Staff Selection Commission. The aspirants can check the SSC JE Application Status for paper 1 at the respective website.

Previously, the SSC JE registration process was started by the Commission on October 1, 2020, and it was continued till October 30, 2020. Forms were available at the official website – ssc.nic.in. The SSC JE application fee is INR 100. Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD and Ex-Servicemen are eligible for reservation and are exempted from paying the fee. SSC JE Exam Pattern 2021

The exam consists of 2 Papers – Paper 1 (objective type) and Paper 2 (Descriptive type). The time duration for each, Paper 1 and Paper 2 is 2 hours. SSC JE Exam Pattern highlights are as follows:

SSC JE Admit Card 2021

SSC JE admit card 2020-21 was issued by the commission on March 18, 2021. The SSC JE admit card for all the regions is released online at the official regional websites of the commission. Candidates will need to download their SSC JE admit card for paper 2 by logging in with a valid registration number and date of birth. In case, the aspirants forgot their registration number, they can retrieve it by entering the name and date of birth. The last date to download the hall ticket is the day of the exam.

SSC JE Result

SSC JE Result 2021

SSC JE result is released by the commission soon after the exam is held. Candidates can check the result at the official website i.e. ssc.nic.in. In order to check the result, candidates have to search with their respective SSC JE exam roll numbers. Given below are the steps to check the SSC JE Result –

  • Visit the official website at ssc.nic.in
  • Click the JE tab under the Result tab
  • Click on the respective link “SSC JE Result
  • A pdf file will get open, search your roll number to check your result.

SSC JE Answer Key

The Commission releases two separate answer keys for SSC JE Paper 1 and Paper 2. Answer keys for Paper 1 and Paper 2 shall be uploaded at ssc.nic.in. along with the question papers. Answer key helps the candidates to analyze their performances in the Junior Engineer Exam.

SSC JE Answer Keys will be available for the candidates once the exam takes place. The steps to download Answer Key is mentioned below-

  • Visit the official website of ssc.nic.in
  • Under the Answer Key tab, click for the respective link for Junior Engineer Answer Keys.
  • Just below the notice, a link would be provided for downloading SSC JE Answer Key, click on it.
  • Now, enter Roll Number, Password and choose the exam date on which you appeared.
  • Click on Submit to get the Answer Key.

Ans: SSC JE is conducted every year for the recruitment of Junior Engineers (JEs) in various branches of Engineering including Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, and Quantity Surveying & Contracts for Group-B (non-gazetted) posts in level-6 (Rs 35,400-1,12,400) of the pay matrix of the seventh Central Pay Commission.

Ques: How many times SSC JE is conducted in a year and what is the age to apply for the exam?

Ans: SSC JE is conducted only once a year and the age limit varies from post to post. There is a relaxation in the age for reserved categories as per govt. of India rules. Candidates are advised to check the eligibility criteria provided by the authorities.

Hi Prahasti. The SSC JE exam is given by the Engineering Graduates and Engineering Diploma holders, while the graduates from different disciplines are permitted to give SSC CGL exam.

No, it is not necessary to have an account in SBI. The fee can be paid from the Debit/ Credit/ Netbanking of any bank. Alternately, it can also be paid using UPI.
