The Staff Selection Commission conducts the SSC JE exam for recruiting the junior engineers for several branches of Engineering such as Mechanical, Civil, Electrical and Quantity Surveying. SSC JE 2021 exam will be held for Group B posts (non-gazetted) in level 6 (Rs. 35400- 112400) of pay matrix of the Seventh Central pay commission. From 22 March to 25 March 2021, the SSC JE paper I 2020 exam will be conducted, whereas on 21 March 2021, the SSC JE Paper II 2019 exam will be commenced.

SSC JE 2021 Eligibility Criteria

Applicants who are willing to appear for the exam should check their eligibility before filling SSC JE Application Form. The verification of the eligibility conditions of the applicants would take place at the time of the recruitment process. Given below is SSC JE 2021 Eligibility Criteria:

SSC JE 2021 Nationality

Candidates who are the citizens of the mentioned country are eligible to appear for the Exam–

  • A citizen of India, or
  • A subject of Nepal, or
  • A subject of Bhutan, or
  • A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before January 1, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
  • A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

SSC JE 2021 Age Limit

A candidate should fulfill the required age criteria as on January 1, 2021:

Junior Engineer (Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical), Central Water Commission And CPWD 32 Years
Junior Engineer (Civil, Electrical and Mechanical), MES and other departments 30 Years

Candidates belonging to reserved categories will be permitted relaxation in the upper age limit as per the government of India reservation norms.

SSC JE 2021 Educational Qualification

Applicants must possess Engineering degree or diploma in any of the following specializations:

  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Electrical Engineering 

The requirement varies for the position applied. Also, in the case of diploma holders, two/ three years of relevant field experience is required. Check SSC JE Eligibility

SSC JE 2021 Application Form

The last date to fill the online application forms is over. SSC JE Application Forms were available at the official website – ssc.nic.in. Check  SSC JE Application Form. 

SSC JE 2021 Application Fee

SSC JE application fee is INR 100/-. Women candidates and candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD and Ex-Servicemen are eligible for reservation and are exempted from paying the fee.

  • The application fee can be paid either through online mode or offline mode.
  • The online mode includes payment through BHIM UPI, net banking/debit card/credit cards.
  • However, the offline mode includes payment through SBI Challan.
  • Challan is generated online after the completion of SSC JE Part 1 Registration. Deposit the requisite fee in any branch of State Bank of India and then continue with the Part 2 Registration.

SSC JE 2021 Admit Card

The admit card for all the regions will be released online at the official regional websites of the commission. Candidates can download their SSC JE admit card by logging in with a valid registration ID and password. The last date to download the Admission letter is the day of the exam.  Download SSC JE Admit Card

Steps to Download Admit Card

Step 1: Visit the official regional website.

Step 2: Click on the link “SSC JE Admit Card”

Step 3: Enter the required credentials such as registration number and date of birth.

Step 4: SSC Junior Engineer Admit Card for Paper 1 will be shown on the webpage.

Step 5: Take a print out of the same.

Important Documents

  • Candidates need to carry the admit card along with Aadhar Card and a Passport Sized Photograph on the exam day.
  • A candidate failing to produce the SSC JE hall ticket will not be allowed to appear for the entrance exam.
  • It is an important document as it contains the roll number and exam center of the candidates.

SSC JE 2021 Syllabus

SSC JE Exam is conducted through two phases- Paper 1 and paper 2. Paper 1 is a general screening exam while paper 2 is a core engineering subject exam.

SSC JE exam results will be released by the commission soon after the exam is held. Candidates can check the result at the official website i.e. ssc.nic.in. In order to check the result, candidates have to search with their respective SSC JE exam roll number. Given below are the steps to check the SSC JE Result –

SSC JE 2021 Answer Key

The Commission releases two separate answer keys for SSC JE Paper 1 and Paper 2. Answer keys for Paper 1 and Paper 2 shall be uploaded at ssc.nic.in. along with the question papers. Answer key helps the candidates to analyze their performances in the Junior Engineer Exam.

SSC JE Answer Keys will be available for the candidates once the exam takes place. The steps to download Answer Key is mentioned below-

  • Visit the official website of ssc.nic.in
  • Under the Answer Key tab, click for the respective link for Junior Engineer Answer Keys.
  • Just below the notice, a link would be provided for downloading SSC JE Answer Key, click on it.
  • Now, enter Roll Number, Password and choose the exam date on which you appeared.
  • Click on Submit to get the Answer Key.

SSC JE 2021 Cutoff

The cut-off scores are the minimum scores that a candidate needs to obtain in order to qualify the exam. SSC JE cut off is decided by the Commission. The SSC releases separate cut-offs each for paper 1 and paper 2. The given below table provides previous year SSC JE Cutoff 2018-19 for Paper 1:

SSC JE 2021 Selection Process

SSC JE Recruitment is conducted for eligible candidates for various Junior Engineer posts and vacancies. The Recruitment Process takes place after the declaration of Results. Candidates are shortlisted on the basis of their scores obtained in both the Paper 1 & 2.

Candidates who successfully qualify the SSC JE Exam will be eligible for participating in Recruitment Process and shall be on probation for a period of 2-years. During the period of probation, candidates would be required to undergo such training or pass such examinations as prescribed by the Controlling Authority.

Hi Prahasti. The SSC JE exam is given by the Engineering Graduates and Engineering Diploma holders, while the graduates from different disciplines are permitted to give SSC CGL exam.

Hello Anubhav,

No, it is not necessary to have an account in SBI. The fee can be paid from the Debit/ Credit/ Netbanking of any bank. Alternately, it can also be paid using UPI.
