How COVID Changed NIFT 2020
NIFT 2020 is the cycle where the pandemic affected the selection itself, not just the dates. GAT and CAT were already done in January 2020, but the Situation Test for B.Des, set for early May, was first postponed and then cancelled. NIFT prepared the B.Des merit from the GAT and CAT alone, and the B.Des result came out on 25 June 2020.

NIFT 2020 Situation Test and Merit
NIFT 2020 shows how the second stage normally counts in the merit, and what happened when it was dropped. In a normal year, shortlisted B.Des candidates build a model in the Situation Test, which carries weight in the final rank. In 2020 this stage was cancelled, so the B.Des rank was based only on the written GAT and CAT.
