How NIFT Paper Has Changed Since 2016
NIFT 2016 is best read with the later changes in mind, since a 2016 paper does not match how the exam runs now. The GAT and CAT structure is the same, but the conducting body, the medium and the marking have changed. The points below are the main changes to note.
● Conducting body: NIFT ran the exam in 2016, while NTA runs it from 2025.
● Medium: 2016 GAT was English, while the paper is bilingual from 2025.
● Marking: design courses had no penalty in 2016, but a quarter-mark penalty applies to all courses from 2024.
