NIFT 2018 Exam Pattern
NIFT 2018 GAT changed length by programme, while CAT was only for B.Des and M.Des. Design courses had a shorter paper in two hours, and the technology courses had 150 questions in three hours. The table below shows the question count and duration for each course.

NIFT Selection Process
NIFT 2018 selection also used the same two stage process that still applies. Candidates first took the written GAT and CAT, and those shortlisted moved to a second stage. B.Des candidates took a Situation Test, the masters courses took an interview, and B.FTech merit was based on the GAT.
