CDS OTA 2026, Check Eligibility, Syllabus & Exam Pattern

CDS 2 OTA 2026 exam is scheduled to be held on September 13, 2026, as per UPSC’s 2026 exam calendar.  This exam aims to select candidates for the 123rd SSC Men (Non-Technical) and 37th SSC Women (Non-Technical) courses at Officers’ Training Academy (OTA), Chennai, with training courses commencing in April 2027. The selection process includes a written test followed by SSB interviews and medical examination. There are two papers for CDS OTA Syllabus- English and GK. 

CDS OTA Preparation Tips 

CDS OTA preparation tips which the candidates should follow are discussed below:

• To learn new English words, candidates should watch English news bulletins and read English newspapers every day.
• Dividing all subjects and creating a study routine is another important preparation tip for CDS OTA. Candidates should divide all the subjects smartly so that the important topics can be covered for the exam. They should also follow the routine properly.
• Revision is another crucial preparation strategy to make learning perfect. Candidates should revise as much as they can because revision will help to improve their areas of weakness.
• Candidates can download the study material for both English and GAT to prepare for the written test.
• Try to attempt as many mock tests and solve as many previous years’ question papers to acquire pace and time management.
• For good preparation, a candidate should sleep well and eat healthy to keep themselves mentally and physically fit.

CDS OTA 2026 Salary

CDS salary is mentioned in the official notification. Candidates are recruited for training after passing the selection process. In the training period, candidates are given a stipend of Rs. 56,000 monthly.

CDS OTA Benefits & Other Allowances

CDS is reputed fieldwork. Through this work, candidates can learn many skills during the OTA training like organizational and administrative skills, planning skills, analytical thinking, etc. At various stages of service, CDS OTA offers promotions which are mentioned below:

• After two years of service, they offered the position of Captain.
• After six years of service, they offered the position of Major.
• After thirteen years of service, they offered the position of Lieutenant Colonel.

Thus CDS OTA is one of the exams that is offered by the Union Public Service Commission. These exams have different sets of eligibility and are completely different. Thus, candidates who want to make their career in the forces can apply for the CDS OTA Exam.
