 As per the UPSC Exam Calendar 2021, the CDS(II) 2021 notification will be released on August 04, 2021. The application process is expected to be released on August 04, 2021, and the last date of submission will tentatively be on August 24, 2021. Check CDS Eligibility Criteria

On the other hand, the application window for CDS (I) 2021 has been closed on November 17, 2020. The CDS I exam has been scheduled for February 07, 2021, and candidates can download the admit card from the official website.  Direct Link for CDS Admit Card

CDS application form 2021 has to be filled in two parts:

  • In part 1: Candidates need to enter their personal details. After that, registration no. and password will be generated. Using these login credentials candidates can fill part 2 of the application form.
  • In part 2: Candidates need to enter the educational qualification, scanned photograph and signature, etc.

CDS Application form 2021 must be filed online only. However, the CDS Application fee can be paid through both offline and online mode. The registration fee for General candidates is INR 200/-, whereas there is no registration fee for the reserved category and female candidates. At the time of preparation, candidates should practise the previous question papers of the CDS exam.

How to fill CDS Application Form 2021?

UPSC CDS Application form can be filled in online mode only at the official website. The application process involves two parts – Part 1 is basic registration and Part 2 includes fee payment, filing up form and uploading scanned documents. Candidates are advised to go through the Official UPSC CDS 2021 Notification before proceeding to fill the form. There are 4 simple steps involved in CDS Application Process:

Step 1: CDS Registration

  • Visit UPSC CDS 2021 official website – upsconline.nic.in
  • Click on Part 1 registration to open the registration form.

  • Enter your name, date of birth, parents’ name, address, category, mobile number, email ID and other basic details. 
  • Your registration number will be sent to you as SMS and email.

Step 2: Pay CDS Application Fee 

  • Candidates have to pay application fees for CDS 2021 that is INR 200.
  • Female, SC, ST, and Physically handicapped candidates are exempted from fee payment.
  • Application Fees can be paid in online mode via Debit/ Credit Card or SBI Netbanking and in offline mode by paying cash at any SBI Bank branch.
  • To pay the fees by cash, candidates will have to generate bank challan during the registration process and submit the same along with the fees at any SBI bank branch.

Step 3: Fill CDS Application Form

  • Candidates have to complete their form by mentioning personal and educational details.
  • Indicate your preferred position amongst IAF, IMA, INA, and OTA.
  • Also, select CDS Exam Center as per your preference.
  • Fill the form very carefully as no correction will be allowed after the closing of the application process.

Step 4: Upload CDS Photo, Signature, and Photo ID Proof

Candidates have to upload their scanned passport size photograph, signature, and photo ID proof in prescribed specifications:

Now, agree to the declaration and submit the form and download the filled-in application form and fee payment receipt for further reference.

Q. After the submission of the requisite application fee, can the application be canceled and a request for a refund be generated?

A. Yes, the application can be withdrawn. After the completion of online registration, the authorities will release the dates for application withdrawal. At that specific time, candidates can withdraw their candidature from the examination.  However, the application fees will not be refunded.

Q. I am an applicant belonging to the general category. However, I selected the reserved category by mistake while applying for CDS 2021. I wish to make changes to my category. Please help.

A. You can fill a fresh form and make the changes in that form till the application deadline. Application fees will have to be paid again.

Q. Can multiple forms be submitted and the fees for one form be adjusted to the other?

A. Multiple forms can be submitted only under an unavoidable situation. However, candidates will have to pay the fees again as the fees of another form will not be adjusted for the accurate form.

Q. Are candidates who have just appeared for the qualifying examination eligible for CDS 2021?

A. Yes. Aspirants who have just appeared for the qualifying exam are also eligible provided they have no backlog up to the last semester and are able to produce the required documents at the time of admission.

Q.How can I recover my Registration ID and password?

A. To recover the registration ID or password, you need to refer to the registered email ID to recover the password or registration id. You can also see the registration number on the fee receipt.

Q.Do I need to send the hardcopy of the CDS application form 2021 to the authorities?

A. No, you do not need to send the printout of the CDS application form to the authorities. However, it is advised that you must keep a hard copy of the application for your own record and future reference.

My complete name is more than 30 characters long. What should I do, as the name field in the Online Application set a limit of 30 characters?

Hi. While applying online, as you fill up your name in the name field, if it reaches the default size of 30 characters, an additional field for full name will appear in the form and a pop up message. You can click on the same and fill the full name in the Additional Field. Full Name field has a capacity of 70 characters.

Hi. It is important to upload the picture as per the guidelines in the form. You need to resize it as per the mentioned guidelines. An easiest way is to do so using the MS-Paint and Photoshop.

Hi. Candidates planning to apply for the exam should have valid email ID, contact number, a soft copy of Photo and signature or thumb impression in required size and format. All these documents are needed while applying for CDS exam online exam.
Candidates must have payment source documents (Credit card, debit card, Net banking) to pay the CDS application fee.

Hi Avinash. CDS exam is taken two times in every year. Each year almost 5 lakh+ candidates apply for CDS exam, so in one year around 10 lakh+ candidates apply for the CDS exam.

Hii Birendra. According to your birth date as of now your age is 24 year and 6 months and As per the declaration of UPSC, the candidates need to be between 19 to 24 year. Still you can apply for CDS OTA as candidate can apply for CDS OTA till age of 25 years. For more details Click Here
