CBSE UGC NET Exam Centres’ List, and Important Instructions

CBSE UGC NET 2021 exam dates are yet to be announced. The dates and the list of the exam centres will be released with the official notification of the exam. However, like in previous years, it is expected that the NTA will conduct the UGC NET exam in 224 cities across India. Each of the states has several exam centres and all of them are given unique Centre Codes. The candidates have to choose 3 preferences each while filling up the application form.

Generally, it is tried that the candidates get their preferred exam centres but due to some administrative reasons, some candidates might be allotted different exam centres.

Choosing UGC NET Exam Centres

As mentioned previously, the students have to choose their preferred exam centres in the application form. Points to remember while choosing CBSE UGC NET Exam Centres 2021 are below.

  • Open the official website to choose the UGC NET Exam Centres
  • The candidates should select the preferable exam centres from the provided lists.
  • All the aspirants will get three options to choose the exam centres
  • The exam centres should be based on the nearest cities of the aspirants.
  • The selection of exam centres cannot be changed once the form is submitted.
  • The seat allotment process will be completed as per the first-apply-first-allotment basis.
Instructions

UGC NET Exam Centre: Important Instructions

There are some guidelines that need to be followed at the exam centre by each candidate.

  • Candidates will be allowed entry only after presenting the admit card to the authorities at the Centre.
  • Candidates need to supplement their admit card with government ID Proof to get access to the premises.
  • Any request for the change of centre at the time of Exam will not be entertained at the centre.
  • Candidates will not be allowed entry into the examination centre after the time mentioned on the admit card.
  • Candidates must leave the premises of the Exam Centre immediately after the conclusion of the Exam.

These instructions are very important and the candidates must follow them minutely to avoid any hassle or disqualification from the examination. They must also visit the allotted exam centre before the exam to familiarize themselves with the route and the time taken to reach there.

FAQs

Ques. Can we get our Centre changed after applying for UGC NET?

Ans. This can happen only during the Application Correction period. However, candidates are advised to fill up the centres appropriately in the first attempt itself.

Ques. What are the chances of getting the first preference for Exam Centre in UGC?

Ans. Very High. UGC tries to allocate the centre according to the preference of the candidate. In rare cases of some administrative issue, the candidates are allotted a different centre.

Ques. Can I appear for UGC NET at any other centre?

Ans. No. Candidates will be entertained only at their respective Exam Centre. They won’t be allowed entry at any other centre except the one mentioned on their admit cards.

Ques. Is there any difference in questions for different states in UGC NET?

Ans. No. THe questions are decided by the central authority which is the same at all the centres across the country. Different sets of paper may contain different sequences of questions, but the questions will be the same according to the syllabus.

Hi. In addition to the PhD, candidates need to clear the National Eligibility Test (NET) or an accredited test (state level eligibility test) or other similar exams. But as per the reports, those who received PhDs before 2009 will not be asked to clear the NET.
