The correct answer is

Aravind Adiga

'The White Tiger' is the debut novel of the Indian writer Aravind Adiga.

It was published in 2008 and won the Man Booker Prize the same year, making it one of the most celebrated Indian novels of that period.

The book is written as a series of letters from its narrator, Balram Halwai, a driver-turned-entrepreneur, and it sharply explores class divide, corruption and social mobility in modern India.

It was later adapted into a film, further widening its recognition.

The distractors are all eminent Indian authors but wrote other works: Vikram Seth is known for 'A Suitable Boy', Amitav Ghosh for 'The Shadow Lines' and the 'Ibis' trilogy, and Rohinton Mistry for 'A Fine Balance'.

None of them authored 'The White Tiger'.

Hence, the author of 'The White Tiger' is Aravind Adiga.
