From the following authors, who created 'Midnight's Children'?
Salman Rushdie
The question asks the author of the celebrated novel 'Midnight's Children'.
'Midnight's Children' was written by Salman Rushdie and published in 1981.
The novel tells the story of Saleem Sinai, born at the exact moment of India's independence on 15 August 1947, using his life to mirror the nation's journey from colonial rule to freedom and beyond.
It won the Booker Prize in 1981 and was later honoured with the 'Booker of Bookers' and the 'Best of the Booker', recognising it as one of the finest works to win the award.
The book is a landmark of magical realism and postcolonial literature, blending history, myth and fantasy.
Raj Kamal Jha, Kiran Nagarkar and Upamanyu Chatterjee are all noted Indian writers, but none of them authored this particular novel.
Hence the correct answer is Salman Rushdie.
