Which one of the khyativada is accepted by Vaisesika system ?
Anyathakhyati
Khyativada is the Indian theory of error (bhrama): it explains what is really cognised when, for example, a shell is mistaken for silver.
The Nyaya-Vaisesika realists hold Anyathakhyati, 'apprehension of a thing as otherwise'. The silver really exists elsewhere (in a shop) and is presented to the perceiver through jnanalaksana (extraordinary) contact via memory; the error lies in the wrong synthesis of a present 'this' with an absent silverness.
The other theories belong to other schools: Akhyati (non-apprehension, error as failure to discriminate perception from memory) is the view of Prabhakara Mimamsa; Atmakhyati (the cognition's own form projected outward) is held by the Yogacara Buddhists; Asatkhyati (apprehension of the non-existent) is ascribed to the Madhyamika Buddhists.
Hence, the answer is Anyathakhyati.
