The correct answer is

In India's First-Past-the-Post system, a candidate is declared elected simply by securing more votes than any other contestant, which need not be an absolute majority (more than 50%) of the votes cast. In a Proportional Representation system, seats are distributed to parties in proportion to the votes they secure, so that the winning candidate's success more closely reflects majority support among voters. Hence, both statements are correct.
