Identifying Preferences in the Passage

Let's go through the passage and find the specific mentions of who liked what:

  • The passage states, "His mother, who was also there, just loved the soup." This tells us Rahul's mother liked the soup.
  • When describing the peas and paneer dish, the passage says, "His friends liked this dish the best." This indicates Rahul's friends liked the peas and paneer.
  • Regarding the salad, the passage mentions, "Rahul's wife loved the salad the best." This shows Rahul's wife liked the salad.

Matching People and Dishes

Based on the information found in the passage, we can create the following matching:

Person Dish Liked Matching Code
a. Rahul’s wife Salad 3
b. Rahul’s mother Soup 1
c. Rahul's friends Peas and paneer 2

So, the correct matching is a - 3, b - 1, and c - 2.

Selecting the Correct Option

Now, let's look at the given options and find the one that matches our determined mapping of a - 3, b - 1, c - 2.

  • Option 1: a - 2, b - 1, c - 3 (Incorrect, a is matched with 2 instead of 3, and c with 3 instead of 2)
  • Option 2: a - 1, b - 3, c - 2 (Incorrect, a is matched with 1 instead of 3, and b with 3 instead of 1)
  • Option 3: a - 3, b - 2, c - 1 (Incorrect, b is matched with 2 instead of 1, and c with 1 instead of 2)
  • Option 4: a - 3, b - 1, c - 2 (Correct, this matches our derived mapping)
