SSC JHT Eligibility Criteria 2026

To be eligible for SSC JHT 2026, candidates must fulfill the following criteria:

SSC JHT Nationality 

Applicants must be:

  • Indian citizens, or
  • Subjects of Nepal/Bhutan, or
  • Persons of Indian origin from select neighboring countries (e.g., Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Vietnam) intending permanent settlement in India.

    Candidates from categories (ii)-(iv) require a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.

SSC JHT Educational Qualification

Candidates must hold:

  • A Master’s degree in Hindi or English with the other language as a compulsory/elective subject, OR
  • A Master’s degree in any discipline with Hindi/English as the medium and the other language as a subject, AND
  • A diploma/certificate in translation OR 2 years of translation work experience in government offices.
