In which year did Babur take control of Kabul?
1504 CE
Babur, a Timurid prince, inherited the small kingdom of Fergana in 1494. After repeatedly losing Samarkand and Fergana to the Uzbeks under Shaibani Khan, he turned south and captured Kabul from the Arghun ruler Muqim Beg in 1504 CE.
Kabul became his base for the next two decades, from which he launched his campaigns into India, culminating in the First Battle of Panipat (1526) against Ibrahim Lodi and the founding of the Mughal Empire.
Hence, Babur took control of Kabul in 1504 CE.
