A’s one-day work = \(\frac{1}{12}\), B’s one-day work = \(\frac{1}{16}\).
Together in one day = \(\frac{1}{12}+\frac{1}{16}=\frac{4+3}{48}=\frac{7}{48}\).
Work done in 3 days = \(3\times\frac{7}{48}=\frac{21}{48}=\frac{7}{16}\).
Work left = \(1-\frac{7}{16}=\frac{9}{16}\).
Hence, \(\frac{9}{16}\) of the work is left.
