From an external point P, two tangents PA and PB are drawn to a circle, touching at A and B. If PA = 12 cm, find PB.

The correct answer is

12 cm

By the theorem on tangents from an external point, the two tangent segments drawn from the same external point to a circle are always equal in length.

Here, PA and PB are tangents drawn from the same external point P, touching the circle at A and B respectively.

Therefore \(PB = PA = 12\text{ cm}\), using only the given value of PA from the figure.
