SSC CGL 2017 (Tier 1) Previous Year Paper (16-Aug-2017) (Shift 1)
The correct answer is

Wheat

During British rule, Punjab was developed as the empire's granary. The British built an extensive canal colonies network (Upper Bari Doab, Sirhind, Lower Chenab, Lower Jhelum canals) that transformed arid tracts into irrigated farmland, and cultivators were persuaded or coerced into growing wheat — a commercial cash crop exported to Britain and used to feed the army and administration.

Jute belonged to Bengal, tea to Assam and the southern hills, and sugarcane was not the British focus in Punjab.
