Dayanand Saraswati’s Satyarth Prakash has suggested :
A definite curriculum for educational institutions
Swami Dayanand Saraswati, founder of the Arya Samaj (1875), wrote Satyarth Prakash (1875), whose third chapter deals in detail with education (brahmacharya and study).
In it he lays down a definite course of study: Sanskrit grammar (Ashtadhyayi, Mahabhashya), Nirukta, Chhanda, the Vedas with Vedangas and Upavedas, Ayurveda, Dhanurveda, Gandharva Veda, philosophy and astronomy, along with the number of years for each stage — in effect a definite curriculum.
The book does not merely state general objectives, a list of activities or a mission statement for institutions; its distinctive educational contribution is the prescribed syllabus, which later guided the Gurukuls and DAV institutions.
Hence, Satyarth Prakash has suggested a definite curriculum for educational institutions.
