According to Buddhism the most important aim of education is to prepare the individual for ..........
Nirvana
In Buddhist education, the supreme aim is Nirvana — liberation from suffering (dukkha) and from the cycle of rebirth.
Education in the viharas and monasteries (Nalanda, Vikramashila) aimed at character building, moral conduct (sila), concentration (samadhi) and wisdom (prajna) through the Eightfold Path, all directed towards Nirvana.
Moksha is the corresponding term in Hindu philosophy, while meditation and religious discussion were only means or methods used in Buddhist education, not its final aim.
Hence, according to Buddhism, the most important aim of education is to prepare the individual for Nirvana.
