A cylindrical tank has a radius of 7 m and a height of 11 m. How many litres of water can it hold? (Use π = 22/7)
16,94,000
The volume of a cylinder is \(V = \pi r^2 h\).
Substitute \(r = 7\) m, \(h = 11\) m and \(\pi = \frac{22}{7}\): \(V = \frac{22}{7} \times 7^2 \times 11 = \frac{22}{7} \times 49 \times 11\).
\(V = 22 \times 7 \times 11 = 1694\) m3.
Since 1 m3 = 1000 litres, \(1694 \times 1000 = 1694000\) litres.
Hence, the tank can hold 16,94,000 litres of water.
Find the total surface area of a closed cylinder having a base radius of 70 m and a height of 110 m. [Use π = \(22\over7\)]
The diameter of the base and slant height of a right circular cone are 30 cm and 113 cm, respectively. Find the volume (in cm³) of the given cone.
