SSC MTS is a national level competitive exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission for the recruitment of Multi-Tasking Staff in various central government departments, ministries, and offices.   • Candidates who wish to appear for SSC MTS 2021 should be an Indian National or a subject of Nepal, Bhutan, or Tibetan refugees.
  • Candidates must be between 18-25 years of age to be eligible to apply for the SSC MTS examination.
  • Candidates must have passed class 10th or equivalent from a recognized university. 
  • Non – eligible candidates will not be issued SSC MTS Admit Card.

SSC MTS Nationality

SSC MTS Eligibility 2021: Nationality

To be eligible to appear for SSC MTS 2021, there are certain nationality criteria that must be taken into consideration. Candidates seeking this recruitment have to sit for the examination, the following are the nationality criteria that must be taken care of:

  • A candidate must be a citizen of India or
  • A candidate must be subject to Nepal or
  • He or she must be a subject of Bhutan or
  • A candidate who is a Tibetan refugee and came to India with the intention of settling in India before January 1, 1962, is also eligible to appear for the SSC MTS examination or
  • Candidate of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India will also be considered to sit in SSC MTS 2020 examination.

Note: Candidate must have a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India (if a candidate belongs to a country other than India i.e. Nepal, Bhutan, Tibet, Pakistan, Burma, etc.).

SSC MTS Eligibility 2021: Age Limit

Candidates appearing for SSC MTS 2021 test must be 18 to 25 years of age as on August 1, 2021. However, there will be an upper age limit relaxation in the case of physically handicapped, SC/ST, and OBC categories.

Note 1: It is important to note that candidate must get the benefit of reservation if he/ she has a minimum of 40% disability in case of physically handicapped. Concession to a central government employee will be granted either under the PH category or under the Central Government Employee category.

Note 2: The date of birth of the candidate will be recorded as mentioned in the matriculation certificates. No changes will be granted/accepted by the commission otherwise.

Educational Qualification

SSC MTS Eligibility 2021: Educational Qualification

According to SSC MTS Eligibility, the candidate must have passed matriculation or equivalent examination from a recognized board as of August 1, 2021. In case a candidate does not pass the qualifying examination before the closing date of receipt of the application form, he or she is not permitted to apply.  

SSC MTS 2021 Documents and Format of Certificates Required

  1. Candidates seeking age – relaxation or reservation under various categories are required to submit the relevant certificates.
  2. Candidates must submit requisite SC/ST/OBC/disability certificate from the competent authority issued on or before the prescribed date, in the required format whenever such certificates are sought by the Regional/Sub-Regional Office. If there is any failure in producing required certificates, their claim will not be entertained. The formats of the certificates are already being annexed.
  3. The candidate must be careful to get the certificates in the prescribed format. If the certificates are found to be in any other format, they will not be accepted. OBC Certificate with the status of Creamy Layer issued between 24.11.2013 to 20.05.2021 only will be accepted.
  4. Candidates must not get involved in fraudulent activities to get reservation or age- relaxation or else he/she will be permanently debarred from the examinations conducted by the Commission. The Closing date will be treated as the date of reckoning for OBC status.

Yes, you can apply for MTS under PH (Physically handicapped) category. Your age must be between 18 to 31 years of age as of August 1, 2021, due to the relaxation of 6 years for PH applicants. You must have passed matriculation or equivalent examination from a recognized board as of August 1, 2021.

No there is no special relaxation for candidates belonging to EWS category. For general candidate maximum age limit is 25 years and hence you will not be eligible to apply. Relaxation for other categories is as follows:

  • SC/ST – upto 5 years
  • OBC/Ex serviceman – 3 years
  • PG General – 5 years
  • PH (OBC) – Up to 8 years
  • PH (SC/ST) – up to 10 years
  • Ex-servicemen (OBC)- up to 3 years Ex-servicemen (SC/ST) and Domiciled in the state of J&K (OBC)- up to 8 years

As a general category candidate, you will not be eligible as the upper limit to apply is 25 years, however for different reserved categories, there will be reservation applicable for different years. If you have category certificate, you can claim benefit of reservation i.e. age relaxation but proof needs to be submitted at the time of application. Also age will be calculated as per the date of birth mentioned in 10th certificate.

As per the details given, your age calculated as on August 1, 2021 will be more than 31 years. For general category , this is over age and hence you won’t be eligible. More than 5 years of relaxation is granted for few categories only i.e. PH (OBC/SC/ST) and Ex servicemen(SC/ST) and domiciled in the state of J&K(OBC).

Yes you are very much eligible as your age will be above 18 years on August 1, 2021. The required age limit is between 18 and 25 years. There is however concession of few years for different reserved categories. Date of birth mentioned in 10th certificate will be considered valid.

The permissible age limit to apply for the exam is between 18 and 25 years but there will be relaxation of 10 years for physically handicapped candidates. However there is no special relaxation for ex-servicemen with physical deformity, but age relaxation for ex-servicemen in general or SC/ST/OBC is also applicable. So you are eligible to apply in either case.

If you belong to general category, then unfortunately you are not eligible to apply as maximum age limit as on August 1, 2021 is 25 years. There is however relaxation of different years for different category of students including SC, ST, OBC, PwD, ex-servicemen etc., so accurate answer, it is suggested to specify your category as well.

Age for 2021 session of SSC MTS exam is calculated as on August 1, 2021, so you will be above 25 years in August. Hence you will not be eligible to apply until and unless you belong to any reserved category. Upper age limit relaxation varies from one category to other.

There is a relaxation of 5 years in case of SC category students but considering that as well on August 1, 2021, your age will exceed 30 years, so unfortunately you are not eligible to apply for the exam. Date of birth recorded in the matriculation certificate will be considered for age calculation.

There is no criteria of height or physical dimensions that needs to be satisfied for application. You must have to adhere to the criterias of age, nationality and educational qualification to fill the form for the exam. Those qualifying the preliminary test need to undergo descriptive test followed by interview and document verification rounds.

No both are separate categories and there is relaxation applicable for OBC category students are not general. OBC is Other Backward Classes which has two internal divisions of creamy layer and non-creamy layer. For OBC candidates, there will be 3 years relaxation in upper age limit.

At the time of document verification you need to submit supporting documents claiming all reservations duly signed by a competent authority. The details will be specified in the official notification as well. You will be granted benefits of the reservation only if you submit valid documents asper the notification.
