In addition to the basic pay, other benefits like House Rent Allowance (HRA), Travel Allowance (TA), Dearness Allowance (DA) etc. are a part of SSC CGL employees’ salary.
HRA is for the SSC CGL employees so that they can pay the house rent. The HRA is decided based on the city in which employees get posted and is segmented into three categories. It is offered to the employees so that they can pay their house rent. As per the norm set by the department, HRA must not be less than INR 5400/- pm, INR 3600/- pm and INR 1800/- per month based on the cities.

Dearness Allowance or DA means the cost of living adjustment allowance. Under the 7th Pay Commission, DA is fixed at 17 per cent of the basic pay.
