SBI PO 2020 Overall and Sectional Cutoff

Till 2018, Candidates had to clear overall as well as sectional cutoffs in order to qualify the exam. There are various types of cutoff scores that the candidate needed to obtain to successfully crack the exam. Complete information about these parameters is given below. The test paper is divided into several sections such as Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, General Knowledge and English.

SBI sets sectional cut-offs and candidate needed to clear each cut off to qualify the competitive test. Also, clearing only the sectional cut-offs was not sufficient. Candidate had to secure the overall cut-off declared by SBI. The SBI PO 2020 Overall Cut-off is different from the sectional cut-offs. However, this year, there is no provision of sectional cutoffs.

SBI PO 2020 Cutoff Evaluation

In order to calculate the actual cut-off figure, the exam conducting authorities have to analyse several variables. Depending on the category of the candidate, the cut-off scores will be different. The factors influencing the cut-off marks are discussed below.

  • The number of candidates who appear for the exam will play a role in deciding the SBI PO 2020 Cut-Off marks. It will also depend on the number of available posts for recruitment purposes. The reservation applicable for different categories is also a relevant factor.
  • Question paper difficulty level must also be considered when calculating the cut-off score. It must be noted that the cut-off marks, once decided and announced by SBI, cannot be contested. The candidates will have no right to challenge the cut-off, in case they are dissatisfied with it.
  • The process of normalization has been adopted for calculating final cut off score of SBI PO 2020. The procedure for calculating cut off score is given below. The recruitment of candidates is done strictly on the basis of SBI PO result cum merit list.
  • The SBI PO 2020 cut-off marks are normalized as the following formula:
  • Total Marks secured by last ranked selected candidate (Out 0f 100) = Written Test (Normalized to 75) + GD & Interview (Normalized to 25)

SBI PO 2020 Stages of Cut off

SBI PO 2020 cutoff is declared separately for various stages of the exam. The first round of the selection process is the preliminary test. Cut-off marks are declared for this round which the candidates must obtain in order to move on to the next round.

The second round is the SBI PO Main Exam. Again, cut-offs are announced separately for this stage. To qualify the exam, the candidates must clear the cut-off score for mains as well. The final stage of the selection process is the personal interview round.

For PI round, cut-offs are announced independently. Based on who manages to secure the cut-off for this stage, candidates are finally recruited.
