Group Captain Shubhanshu Shukla of the Indian Air Force flew as pilot of the Axiom-4 (Ax-4) mission, launched on 25 June 2025 aboard a SpaceX Falcon 9 / Crew Dragon.
He docked with the International Space Station on 26 June 2025 and spent about 18 days there, becoming the first Indian to visit the ISS and the second Indian in space after Rakesh Sharma (1984).
Sunita Williams is an American astronaut of Indian origin, while Barry Wilmore and Nick Hague are NASA astronauts; none of them is an Indian astronaut.
