Candle Flame Combustion Explained
Combustion, the process of burning, requires fuel (wax vapor) and an oxidizer. For a candle flame, the oxidizer is oxygen from the air.
When a burning candle is covered with a glass jar:

- As oxygen levels decrease, the combustion process weakens.
Once the available oxygen is depleted below the level required to sustain the flame, the candle will stop burning.
Therefore, covering a burning candle with a glass jar causes the flame to extinguish due to lack of oxygen.
