RRB Group D 2025 Question Paper (18-Aug-2026) (Shift 1)
The correct answer is

Esterification reaction

Ethanoic acid reacts with ethanol in the presence of an acid catalyst to form a sweet-smelling ester, ethyl ethanoate, and water.

CH3COOH + C2H5OH → CH3COOC2H5 + H2O.

The formation of an ester in this way is called esterification; saponification is the reverse reaction with an alkali.

Hence, the answer is esterification reaction.
