SSC CPO 2025 Paper 1 Question Paper (9-Dec-2025) (Shift 2)
The correct answer is

It delivers high-speed broadband services using Ka-band across India.

GSAT-20, renamed GSAT-N2, is a high-throughput communication satellite owned by NewSpace India Limited (NSIL), ISRO's commercial arm. It was launched on 19 November 2024 on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Cape Canaveral, USA.

It carries a Ka-band payload with 32 user spot beams (about 48 Gbps throughput) covering the whole of India, including Andaman & Nicobar and Lakshadweep, to provide high-speed broadband and in-flight internet connectivity.

Navigation over the Indian region is the job of the NavIC (IRNSS/NVS) satellites, weather monitoring is done by INSAT-3D/3DR/3DS, and Earth observation by Cartosat, RISAT and other EOS satellites.

Hence, GSAT-20 (GSAT-N2) delivers high-speed broadband services using Ka-band across India.
