At which Lagrange point does the Aditya-L1 spacecraft orbit?
L1
Aditya-L1 is India's first space-based solar observatory. It was launched by ISRO on PSLV-C57 on 2 September 2023 and was inserted into a halo orbit around the Sun–Earth Lagrange point 1 (L1) on 6 January 2024.
L1 lies about 1.5 million km from Earth towards the Sun. From there the spacecraft can watch the Sun continuously without any eclipse or occultation, which is why the mission is named "Aditya-L1".
L2 lies on the far side of Earth away from the Sun (used by the James Webb Space Telescope), while GEO (geostationary orbit) and SSO (Sun-synchronous orbit) are Earth orbits, not Lagrange points.
Hence, Aditya-L1 orbits the L1 point.

The depth of the buried crater discovered by Chandrayaan-3 is approximately _____.
What is the main purpose of developing ISRO’s MiniSAR (Miniaturized Synthetic Aperture Radar) at X-Band?
What is the primary purpose of ISRO's GSAT-20 (GSAT-N2) satellite?
Read the following statements marked as Assertion (A) and Reason (R). Choose the correct option:
Assertion (A): Spark Torch Igniters are being increasingly incorporated into advanced rocket engine designs for next-generation launch vehicles.
Reason (R): They provide superior multi-restart capability and consistent, reliable ignition in extreme conditions, allowing for more complex mission profiles and enabling engine reusability.

Satellites used for telecommunication relay are kept in a geostationary orbit. A satellite is said to be in such an orbit when:
1) The orbit is geosynchronous.
2) The orbit is circular.
3) The orbit lies in the plane of the Earth's equator.
4) The orbit is at an altitude of 22,236 km
