What is the main purpose of developing ISRO’s MiniSAR (Miniaturized Synthetic Aperture Radar) at X-Band?
To provide high-resolution X-Band radar imagery using compact airborne systems
A Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) is an active microwave imaging sensor that sends radar pulses and records the echoes; it can image the Earth's surface by day or night and through clouds, rain and smoke.
ISRO's Space Applications Centre (SAC), Ahmedabad, has developed a miniaturized X-Band SAR that is small and light enough to be flown on small aircraft and drones, giving high-resolution radar images for uses such as disaster management, surveillance, mapping and resource monitoring.
A radar is a sensing payload and cannot replace a rocket stage like the PSLV upper stage; SAR does not measure atmospheric pressure; and it is an imaging system, not a video communication link for crewed missions.
Hence, the main purpose of MiniSAR is to provide high-resolution X-Band radar imagery using compact airborne systems.

Read the following statements marked as Assertion (A) and Reason (R). Choose the correct option:
Assertion (A): Spark Torch Igniters are being increasingly incorporated into advanced rocket engine designs for next-generation launch vehicles.
Reason (R): They provide superior multi-restart capability and consistent, reliable ignition in extreme conditions, allowing for more complex mission profiles and enabling engine reusability.
