TV Remote Communication Technology

Other Options Considered

• Laser diode: Lasers are too focused and powerful for this application and are not used in standard TV remotes.
• Bluetooth transmitter: While some modern smart remotes use Bluetooth for connectivity (especially for voice commands or connecting without line-of-sight), it's not the common method for basic TV control signals.
• UV transmitter: Ultraviolet (UV) light is not suitable for remote control communication.

Therefore, the most common technology used by TV remote controls is an Infrared LED.
