Three friends, Amit, Bala, and Chetan, have savings in the ratio 5:7:9. If Bala's savings exceed Amit's by ₹3,600, what are Chetan's total savings?

The correct answer is

₹16,200

Savings ratio 5:7:9 means each part is worth k. Bala exceeds Amit by 2 parts: \(7k-5k=2k=3600 \Rightarrow k=1800\).

Chetan's savings: \(9k = 9\times1800 = 16200\).

Hence, Chetan's total savings are ₹16,200.
