The volume of a cuboid is twice that of a cube. If the dimensions of the cuboid are (8 m × 8 m ×16 m), the total surface area of the cube is:

The correct answer is

384 m2

Given:

The volume of a cuboid is double that of a cube.

Height  = 16 cm

Width = 8 cm

Length = 8 cm

Used formula:

Volume of a cuboid = Length × Width × Height

Volume of a cube = (side)3

Calculation:

Volume of a cuboid = 8 × 8 × 16 

= 1024

Volume of a cuboid = 2 × Volume of a cube

Volume of a cuboid = 2 × (side)3

(side)3 = 1024/2 = 512cm

Side = 8 cm

Total surface area of the cube = 6 × 64

= 384 cm2

∴ The total surface area of the cube is 384 cm2.
