UGC NET 2018 Paper 1 Question Paper (8-Jul-2018)
The correct answer is

Inductive

Reasoning that adds new factual knowledge must move beyond what is already contained in its premises.

Inductive reasoning starts from observed cases and generalises to wider laws, so its conclusions go beyond the evidence. This is how science discovers new facts about the world.

Deductive and demonstrative reasoning only make explicit what is already contained in the premises, so they give certainty but no new factual content. Speculative reasoning is not grounded in observation at all.

Hence, Inductive.
